Training for a Personal Best at 70
I have heard it said, we should never take health advice from someone who does not look healthy! So, for what it’s worth I am training to run a personal best 5K at 70 (which I will turn in May 2026).
If that sounds like a stretch, I set that time in July 1997 - seven (7) months after (briefly) needing a wheelchair because of Guillain Barre Syndrome; I ran my only marathon 2 months later.
This was an even bigger stretch than a PB at 70 – considering doctors were concerned I would even walk again when I was diagnosed with GBS in January 1997.
But while I was mobile beyond anyone’s expectations I had years of residual issues no one could figure out).
That started changing ten (10) years later in 2007, when I started using High Powered PEMF and I immediately knew I had found my answer! And almost twenty years later I know PEMF is the single biggest reason I have a resting heart rate of 50 (at 69), workout 320+ days each year (and not old guy stuff) and have not taken a prescription drug in 28+ years. In 2016 (at 60) I used PEMF to return to full workout 9 days after hernia surgery – without taking the Tramadol (opioid) I was supposed to use.
